The Spock Paradox

I watched the 2009 Star Trek movie the other day. The premise is that Spock makes a mistake and it leads to people going back in time and changing history. The Paradox is that the new Spock will not make the same mistake so that the people will not go back in time and change history so the old Spock will make the same mistake again and the same people go back in time and change history again. I guess Star Trek history is stuck like a broken record.

  1. Dad, you're always a thinking. Yeah, doesn't Star Trek usually have standardized rules regarding the space-time continuum and seeing yourself from the past? Although they did break that many times in Voyager...hmmm...

  2. Yeah, and I did not like many of the stories with time plots in Star Trek Enterprise.

I must admit, it was nice to see the old Spock. And there probably was not better way to bring him in.

Unless they had done it like an Indian Jones TV episode I remember. At the beginning of the episode, Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) was reminiscing about an object. And then into the story of the young Indian Jones. So we had both Indiana Jones and no break in time. I'm sure they considered that.
