Christmas at the Urbans

We had a nice Christmas this year.  Mary, Sarah Jane, William, Carolyn and Sam were home for this Christmas, 2008.  Will prepared the most talked-about gift this Christmas.  This gift was one of the biggest under the tree if not the biggest.  Our tradition is that we start from the youngest to oldest and each picks a gift from under the tree and hands it to the person whose gift it is.  So Sam started our gift opening event.   Will suggested Sam open this big gift because it was for him.   Sam started to tear off the wrapping on top of the box.  Will exclaimed, “Sam, it has a lid.”  So, Sam opened the lid an saw another gift-wrapped box inside.  So, Sam pulled that box outside the other and opened it.  Inside, he saw another gift-wrapped box.  He opened it and saw another gift.  After opening the fifth box, he opened a note,  “The gift is inside the wrapping.”  So, Sam looked inside the wrapping of the last box he opened and then the one before that one.  Will hinted, “Maybe look in the lid.”  Sam removed the wrapping from the lid of the first box.  Inside, he found a tee-shirt with a chicken on it saying, “Moo!”

While many of our family on the west coast were having lots of snow, We had unusually warm weather.  Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.  May all your gift-giving be fun.

My first one

This is my first one.  No pressure.  At least it breaks open the gate.
